Move towards a Healthier You

Exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress level, water intake etc.  There are many different factors that help or prevent you from being the healthiest you can be.  Life is busy, and sometimes it feels overwhelming to accomplish all we need to be the healthiest we can be.  This year has flown by and next year is going to fly by as well.  There is no better time than right now to take steps to improve your health.

Now with so many different areas to look at, it is important to take small movements to the big picture.  Pick one area to work on at a time.  If you know you need exercise, find an exercise you know you will do, and work to do it consistently.  Spend 4-5 weeks focused just on that.  Once it feels like a new habit move on to your next goal like getting more sleep or learning how to eat cleaner.  Take it one step at a time.  Week to week and month to month you will find your are developing new habits, and in turn a gradual shift into a new healthier lifestyle.

In your journey to a healthier you, go for progress not perfection.  Be realistic.  So often a new diet or exercise routine is started, but the minute you stray from the eating plan or skip a planned workout,  you jump ship and give up.  The goal seems just too far away and too hard to get to.  It takes time to adapt to new habits and to adjust to changes in your body.  Allow yourself to mess up and allow yourself to be proud of a job well done.  Believe me there will be plenty of both.  Believe in yourself to know you won’t give up.

For me seeing is believing.  I have found I am most successful when I document all my progress.  I keep track of my workouts, sleep and nutrition.  I get more motivated when I can look back on a week and see just how much I got done.  It is empowering for me to see what I am doing well and what I need to get better at.  Take time to look at where you are and what you need to do to improve your health.

You are worth it.

Happy Training
