Aqua Fitness

The Train Station is pleased to offer aqua training in its beautiful outdoor pool. Exercising in water provides a well-balanced workout that improves all major components of physical fitness – aerobic training, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition.

Muscles must work against resistance to become developed and toned. Water provides at least 12 times the resistance of air, making each movement in the pool more challenging than on land. One hour of aqua training burns between 400 and 500 calories, comparable to running or walking a 10-11 minute mile. The water’s buoyancy is easy on the joints, yet challenging to your muscles.

Women of all abilities and ages can benefit from a low-impact, well-rounded aqua training workout. It is particularly useful for those with osteoporosis, arthritis, diabetes and back problems. It is also helpful to women going through menopause and safe and relaxing for women who are pregnant.
